Beauty Blender Vs Makeup Brush – Discover Which One You Need the Most.

Let’s be real, most girls use both beauty blenders and makeup brushes. Some of us may be unsure about which one is better. I once had a stroke trying to use a blender when I had to leave for an event in a hurry. I ended up using the brush to save time but found visible streaks on my face once I reached the event.

It’s hard to decide who the winner is between the beauty blender and the makeup brush. I have used both, and it’s safe to say that both have drawbacks and advantages. Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of both.

Coverage

Maximum coverage is what we want and the best tool for it is undoubtedly the makeup brush. It’s not a matter of winning because it depends on what you’re looking for.

Beauty blenders usually give medium or light coverage while a brush allows maximum coverage while saving a lot of product. I use a foundation brush when I need my makeup look to outshine the others! Plus, I can control the brush better due to the handle which beauty blenders don’t have.

Application

The beauty blender vs makeup brush is a long-lasting debate that has been going on for ages. Beauty blenders easily stomp over makeup brushes when it comes to seamless application. Beauty blenders are soft and porous, allowing the product to sit in your pores and leave no room for uneven finish.

Makeup brushes on the other hand usually leave behind streaks which get more prominent with time. Sometimes, you only notice those wrinkle-like streaks under bright light.

Cleaning

Brushes are easier to clean. You just need to wash them with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser and leave them upside down to dry. And the good part is, you don’t need to clean it after every use.

But beauty blenders are stubborn. For one, a lot of product gets stuck in the middle due to constant use. It forms a huge ball of gunk. It becomes hard to clean the blender thoroughly and you need to be regular with the cleaning.

Beauty blenders may also harbour bacteria which might cause breakouts on the skin if they’re not cleaned properly.

Versatility

Beauty blenders work with a lot of products. Whether it’s cream or liquid foundation or setting powder. They act as an all-in-one tool but fall short when it comes to delicate or light applications.

The makeup brush is a versatile tool. It works well with highlighters and blush due to its bristles. The product blends well and does not go to waste.

Meanwhile, the beauty blender wastes a lot of product as it gets stuck in the pores. This makes the makeup brush an ideal choice for delicate application.

Replacement

When it comes to replacing beauty blenders and makeup brushes, we usually miss the deadline and may go on using them for longer.

There’s no manual about when you should finally replace the old one, but you could generally tell.

Beauty blenders should be replaced more consistently than makeup brushes due to their porous material. A lot of bacteria and product gets stuck and maintaining it becomes difficult with time.

Makeup brushes can go on for longer, but remember, you need to clean them both consistently regardless.
